The Midland Hotel Manchester

Location
The hotel is situated in the heart of Manchester city centre, adjacent to the G-Mex conference and exhibition centre and less than one mile from Piccadilly railway station. Manchester International airport is ten miles away.

Rooms
The rooms are medium in size, and equipped with full facilities, including air conditioning. They each have two double beds and are well decorated with floral fabrics and oak furnishings.

Food & Drink
There are three restaurants in the hotel; a fine dining French restaurant, the Trafford room, serving a buffet and carvery and the stylish NICO central. The hotel also has two bars.

General
There are leisure facilities available. The hotel boasts a prime location in Manchester city centre.

Functions
The magnificent Alexandra Suite has witnessed many famous events and can seat up to 500 delegates. With 10 additional function rooms including the elegant Derby and Chester Suites and 7 further syndicate rooms, we can cater for every event.

From the South
Exit junction 19 of the M6 and follow signs to the M56. The M56 becomes the A5103. Follow city centre signs. At the end of the road, go straight over the roundabout, following signs for the G-MEX/ Bridgewater Hall onto Medlock Street. Follow through the lights onto Lower Moseley Street. Pass the Bridgewater Hall on your right and the hotel is facing you.

From the North
From the M6, join the M61 at Preston. At the end of the M61, the motorway leads onto the M60, follow signs for M60 South and West towards The Trafford Centre. Continue onto the M602 and follow signs for the city centre and G-MEX centre onto the A57. Turn left into Water Street and then left onto the A56 Deansgate, then turn right on to Peter Street. The Midland is on the right-hand side about 300 metres down.

This was a lovely hotel and our stay was very enjoyable, when we booked through the website we made a special request for a room with city view however this was not offered by the hotel. The other minor things I feel important to mention are that there was a very bad smell in the leisure suite, which I can only describe as a damp smell which I think was coming from the carpet, the pool is quite small and the ladies sauna was out of use with no alternative offered.

Excellent hotel in an excellent location in Manchester. Good value for money. Room was excellent as was the service from the staff. Would stay here again.

Seem to have re-done all their rooms. First time in M/cr that I really appreciated air-conditioning (July). Room was perfect for our requirements. Really enjoyed the stay (4 nights).

The car valet parking service is excellent. All you need to do is turn up and hand over your keys and your car is parked for you. The same process applies when you leave. This is particularly useful if you do not know your way around Manchester as there is limited parking in the city centre.

French restaurant and Colony restaurant both closed at the same time for redecoration - although the Colony was set up in a different room. Valet parking was excellent, at cost.

I had not visited this hotel for a while & was very impressed at the renovation work that had been done. The breakfast was also very good.

A really lovely and very grand hotel - spacious, gracious, and very well located centrally in great area for shopping and socialising. Couldn't fault a thing and would love to stay there again.

Excellent service, rooms lovely, bed very comfortable! And couldn't get a better location, very central. Swimming pool a little disappointing - it's not really big enough to swim in, but other than that, very impressed.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Midland Hotel, it is one of the oldest hotels in Manchester (or perhaps the oldest?), and retains much of its old world charm. Many hotels of this age would be rather shabby, however, the Midland is very smart and looks to have had a recent facelift. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel itself is in a great central location and has a series of places to eat and wine bars etc. close by. Within a few minutes walk, there are lots of good shopping places for the shopaholics among you. The public transport network is also excellent around this area. We hope to return soon.

Food excellent - the breakfast lasts you the whole day. High standard of decor throughout and everywhere scrupulously clean. We stayed for 4 days and there's no drop in high standards. Otherwise a faultless stay in beautiful surroundings. Situation perfect for serious shoppers - you can return and dump your bags and set off again!

Impeccable hotel with stunning decor. The staff were very helpful and not in the slightest bit stuffy. The tram stop immediately outside is especially useful - it rained for the majority of my stay!
