This hotel is very conveniently located close to Picadilly railway station and Picadilly Gardens metrolink. With a quick connection to Salford Quays and Old Trafford. The hot buffet style english breakfast was more than adequate to start the day off in the correct way. The staff were all very courteous. During my stay there was some refurbishment work going on but the disruption was definitely kept to a minimum.

This is an old hotel which has some fantastic victorian architecture worth a visit for the decor. The rooms are largish for a city centre hotel.

I checked in to the Britannia for one night and was checked in painlessly, the lift to the room was slow so used the stairs to go back down, the room was clean as was the bathroom. There were renovations on the staircase and with threadbare carpets it was easy to see why, the staff were courteous and friendly as was the barman. I didn't take breakfast so can't comment on it. I would stay here again.

Renovations were taking place, and the hotel looked an absolute mess. Loud dance music was coming from somewhere from around 10-2am which made my bed vibrate & we were on the top floor! - we were met with an unsympathetic attitude when this was brought up. Checked in at 12.30 but were told our room was not ready - fine, as check in is not till 2pm anyway. We arrived back at 5.20 to be told our room was still not ready & did not get into the room till 6.10 - over 4 hours after check in time - there were many others complaining of the same issue. The staff kept saying '10 minutes' but clearly had no idea. We were told at 12.30 that our room was nearly ready, however, 5 hours later, it was still being cleaned. Disappointing, no lock on our door, had people knocking on it once at 5.30am and at 8.30am - no idea what was going on with this. The security was lacking, staff indifferent, & the hotel disorganised. Would never recommend it. Absolutely awful.

My parents come over once a year from Holland, and I booked them in. They loved the hotel, it is grand, breakfast was great although not included in the price. The only drawback was the window lock was broken and the outside window balcony was used as an ashtray, could have been cleaned. The entrance to the hotel is very impressive, the lobby bar is a good place to meet and the location is just so central.

This is a fantastic hotel in the centre of Manchester - great rooms, bar open late for residents, very helpful staff on reception when we arrived late in the evening (23.30hrs). Great architecture, my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay - only wish we had longer to enjoy the hotel.

This hotel is a good hotel to stay in for one night, maybe not for a long duration though. Rooms are nice as are the staff! All in all though I enjoyed staying in this hotel!

Very good location for shopping, eating and drinking!! Didn't really get chance to check out the facilities, but the bar was good and reasonably priced.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and tidy, and some have been recently refurbished. Location excellent - right in the centre of Manchester!

We were very happy with our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and well kept.
