Norfolk Hotel Birmingham

Bed room and linen were dirty, shower curtain was not long enough i.e. floor got very wet, shower cubicle very small, workmen in bar and lounge in dirty overalls. On the positive side breakfast was very good.

If your looking for a base to roam its very good. But if your returning later for a drink after 9pm at the bar (saturday) forget about it, it will be closed, oh yes they will hand you a residents rate for drinks at double the price. On the positive breakfast was very good.

My room was very clean and the breakfast was excellent. One drawback about this hotel that it is not within walking distance to the city centre.

Staff friendly, single room small but ok for one. Decor is dated in need of updating. Shower cubicle definitely in need of proper cleaning and decorating - quite shabby! Bed comfortable and clean and there was plenty of complementary tea/coffee in the room!

Breakfast was the best we have seen in a hotel for ages including the staff. The hotel has seen better days and could do with a tidy up but still very good value for the price.

This is a rather rundown and seedy hotel of which there are too many in the UK. Everything looks slightly dirty. The heating went off at 10.00 and I was freezing in the middle of the night. It is cheap but only stay there if you are desperate.

Excellent value inc. full English breakfast when booking on the net. For a basic room with a good hearty breakfast I'm not sure this will be beaten on price.

I had forgotten to bring a small toothpaste with me, so when i read the manual saying if you have forgotten anything don't worry we have toiletries on sale i thought great! To my disappointment they did not have paste and also they never sell it at all. hmm. Also herbal teas are a "in thing" now and none was to be found either in the room or the restaurant. Talk about get with the times already.

Staff are very friendly. The choice at breakfast was very good. The food was well prepared and restaurant looked clean. The first bedroom given had a faulty toilet and no towels, but they happily transferred us to another room.

Basic but ok for the money, Ok for an overnight stop but wouldn't want a week there, room had a strange odour, third bed a fold out chair, decor dated and carpets in need of a change.

My window was broken but no one came to repair it for a whole day after I reported that to the staff......not secure enough!

Initially were given very small rooms, but as heater was not working, were upgraded to better room. Initial budget rooms were very small and not very good facilities, but upgrade rooms were nice.

Norfolk Hotel Birmingham is ideally located just 10 minutes from Birmingham city centre. Local attractions within Birmingham and the surrounding area includes Cadbury World, the Sealife Centre, Jewellery Quarter, Barber Institute, some of the largest shopping complexes and a wide choice of night clubs for a good night out.

By Road
From the M6 take exit 6 and head towards central Birmingham. Whilst on the A38(M) turn off at the sign indicating the Ring Road. Head anti-clockwise towards Kidderminster. Continue for 4 miles until you come across the Five Ways Roundabout just past the Hospital. Turn right and travel along the Hagley Road for 1 mile, the hotel is on the right. From the M5 take exit 2 or 3 and head towards the centre of Birmingham. You will end up on the Hagley Road with the hotel being on the left.
