Room smelled very musty. Price seemed a little high for the room itself as it was small and a little outdated.

I thought the Hotel was over priced but facilities were very good. We had a long wait for a cooked breakfast even though it wasn't very busy.

Magnificent building, accommodation, grounds and service. First class food in both restaurants. Extremely polite and friendly staff. Definitely a five star experience all around.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and the pool, outdoor spa and hydroponics are incredible. The gym is also very well appointed. Unfortunately, the decor throughout the main part of the hotel and bedrooms (not the Bistro which is situated in a very light and airy conservative style corridor) can only be described as bland; a rather dampening factor when one considers the cost of staying at the hotel.

Top-class hotel. Fifteen minutes walk from Bath. Definitely worth staying. Excellent fitness facilities. Two restaurants: we used the cheaper of the two. Food excellent.

The hotel is situated 10 minutes walk from the city centre at the top of a hill. Only 15 miles from Bristol and Bristol Airport and 90 miles from London, Bath is well served by rail and easily reached from the M4/M5.

By Road
Exit the M4 at Junction 18 and take the A46 to Bath until the major roundabout - approximately 8 miles. At the roundabout turn right joining the A4 and follow the signs for City Centre. At the first major set of traffic lights turn left following the signs for the A36. Follow the road over Cleveland Bridge and past the Fire Station. At the next set of traffic lights after the pedestrian crossing turn right then next left after Holburne Museum into Sydney Place. The entrance to the hotel is 200 yards on your right hand side.
